Hurricane Nadine – who is actually a tropical storm right now – is making her presence known across most of the UK today as we get the back lash from the storm currently raging out in the Atlantic Ocean.

It has meant that the weather has been pretty wild, the day started off with lots of surface water and flooding and then broke into lovely sunshine. Then the latter part of the day has been incredibly windy and of Autumnal temperatures.

As for the quote, I absolutely love it. I’ve never heard it until now, but Willa Cather sums it up just perfectly. All my best things, I learned in the midst of a storm! Aside from some law bits and pieces. I usually learn those in the middle of despair.

So wind, rain, the occasional bout of thunder and a spot of lighting decorated the day. Always interesting. This evening hopefully it will calm down a little, but I know we’ve not had the worst of the weather that’s battering some parts of the country. Lots of photos are popping up online of flooded schools, lanes and houses. Stay safe if you’re in the middle of it all!
