“Elections belong to the people. It’s their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters.”

7th May – voting day. And aside from voting I mostly spent it working and then playing with the dogs in the garden. Buddy came to visit for a while and did some pro posing, something he never used to do for me! The flowers are all in bloom and the garden is starting to look wonderful…

Then Buddy taught Maisy how to pose and we tried to get them to pose together – but it didn’t quite work out…

7Aside from today though, I have been taking photos and sharing them on Facebook but just haven’t had the time to blog. I’ve been experimenting with ‘healthy’ cake. Or Healthier cake anyway. Cake made with fat free yoghurt instead of butter and sweetener instead of sugar…

And then I tried my hand at working with jelly for some ‘healthier’ type puddings. It sort of worked out once I ditched the yoghurt (pictured below) and stopped freezing it like a weirdo…

It was a beautiful walk though, and a lovely warm evening – so nice to have some daylight beyond five PM as well! This was also the day of the eclipse – but typically this weather didn’t hit us until mid afternoon. The morning just went a little bit cloudy and dark, no sign of the sun until lunchtime!

There have been some beautiful sunrises, and sunsets. All of which have rounded off a day nicely. It’s great to have a reminder of beautiful things after a tough day…
