“I figured something out. The future is unpredictable.”
― John Green

My last post was about Grandad and was on Father’s day – so it’s only fitting my next post starts with him as well! It’s funny how priorities and outcomes change as time goes on. Last year, when he went into hospital, our end goal was for him to go home. Gradually we’ve had to refocus our targets and have learned that sometimes the next best thing will have to be acceptable. The good news is that Grandad is coming ‘home’ in some respects, to a local nursing home. I hope that nobody has to go through seven months of hospitals because it has been gruelling.

The weather has been great. June into July was warm and we’ve just had the occasional (much needed) bouts of rain. I don’t recall when the last ‘proper’ Summer like this was, but it was way too long ago! Maisy has been once again enjoying a quick spell with the hose pipe…

One of my closest friends gets married in a couple of weeks and I had my first experience of a Hen do! It was…hilarious…

That pretty much sums up the photographs from the last little while, I’ve mostly taken iPhone shots here and there and Wedding season is in full swing so there’s that to contend with as well!

“You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming.”
― Pablo Neruda

I missed a week of blogging, but I took photos so this will be a bumper edition of the weekly challenge! I’m not quite sure where time has gone since Christmas, but we’re already in Spring and it’s a bit of a blur. The last few weeks photos have mostly been Maisy. After our weekend of digging and planting, she decided it was good fun to lie down in our freshly dug flower bed. And when we weren’t looking, have a good old dig.

So we decided that if she really wanted to lie down outside, she could take her bed with her and stop using our hard work for a cushion…!

We finished off the garden yesterday, planting up a few bits and pieces and sorting out the pots. It feels good to have some colour in it and the Bees are already heading in which is great to see.

We invested in an umbrella for the table, one with a fancy handle thing so you don’t have to struggle putting it up and taking it down! Now all we’re saving our pennies for is a BBQ for some hopefully warm summer evenings having dinner outside. Then our garden is complete!

We took Maisy somewhere new for her walk on Friday. She loves exploring on long walks, but even more than that she loves chasing a tennis ball. So we took our trusty ball thrower and within fifteen minutes she was…

It was a beautiful walk though, and a lovely warm evening – so nice to have some daylight beyond five PM as well! This was also the day of the eclipse – but typically this weather didn’t hit us until mid afternoon. The morning just went a little bit cloudy and dark, no sign of the sun until lunchtime!

There have been some beautiful sunrises, and sunsets. All of which have rounded off a day nicely. It’s great to have a reminder of beautiful things after a tough day…
