It hasn’t stopped raining since last night (which isn’t boding well for the coast!) therefore I decided to stick with something nice and simple to photograph today. Also very much ‘to hand’ rather than involving an outside venture. These sorts of days will happen over the next 361, so be warned!
Last Christmas my Mother got some spice drawers. It’s taken a year but we finally started using them… The labels that they came with were quite bland so I used my scrawling handwriting to make some new ones.
Then we topped up the drawers with things that we actually would cook with (and also that were ‘nut’ safe so that my boyfriend could also use them) and we got rid of stuff like ‘Fish powder’ and ‘Fish rub.’ The latter probably doesn’t involve fish, but involves rubbing one which is disgusting, so that had to go!
Replacements are things such as celery salt, Oregano, Ginger, Thyme, Garlic Granules and other bits. I’m very much planning on stealing the cabinet of spices away when I have a house to fill with lots of delightful cooking smells.
