We had family here today for Sunday Roast, so I thought it would be a great time to get the camera out and photograph everybody’s food – thus holding up their eating process!

I think everyone will be grateful for a break from Weather photographs though – talking of weather, snow is forecast for midnight. I’m not sure I can sacrifice my sleep before a Monday morning to get up and take photographs at one minute past….but we shall see!

With another two assignments now behind me, I can see the light at the end of the long dark tunnel that has been four years of University. I both long for and fear the days when I don’t have to revise, read or write essays related to uni work. Fear because it means I’ll have to find a big hobby to fill the void!

A lot have people have asked me what I’ll do at the end of it, as if I’ll take a new job because my degree will make me that much more qualified. Sadly it doesn’t work like that anymore, plus I’m happy in my current job – however I am very very tempted to undertake something educational to do with Photography. I probably should have done that four years ago instead of Social Policy and Criminology ;)

The weekends used to be the time when I could go out and about and capture a few more ‘worthy’ photographs for the blog. That has all changed with the final year of Uni! Most of today was spent typing, researching and complaining all in equal measures. It will be worth it in the long run when I can take time in the Summer to go out and about (and Uni will be over once and for all!)

Today’s photographs were sort of last minute. I had made a half hearted attempt at snapping a few things whilst out and about earlier (break from the essays!) Yet photography often presents itself as an opportunity when you least expect it.

It first hinted that a camera was needed when the laptop started flickering the lights dimmed. Then the wind hit and we were subjected to a barrage of wind and rain. Then, as with any good storm, the skies cleared to offer a beautiful sunset. Made it all worth it really, even the risk of losing unsaved work!
