“The odds of going to the store for a loaf of bread and coming out with only a loaf of bread are three billion to one.”
― Erma Bombeck
Today has been one of those beautiful Autumnal Saturdays that start of cold with awful rain and mist but turn into golden afternoons. My sister and I were treated to a lovely impromptu shopping trip with our Mum which resulted in the very kind lady in Boots giving us free Jimmy Choo clutch bags and a Giorgio Armani vanity case…we’re not one for labels but it was quite nice to see something so shiny and sparkly!
Whilst the men worked on fixing the shelves into the boiler cupboard so that we can store things above it – we shopped, wandered and shopped some more. It was quite therapeutic. When I got back home the bread that I had left to ‘prove’ this morning hadn’t gone too disastorous and so I stuck it in the oven and hoped for the best.

It sort of looks like lumpy scones (it’s granary bread) but tastes amazing and inside is light and fluffy! Bread that the British Bake Off would be proud of….possibly…!
