“We have defied the day as it was set out for us.”
― David Levithan

Every so often I take note of the numbers (which day it is in the challenge) and am always amazed at how quickly time goes by. Work last night (night shift) didn’t go as well as I hoped. The shifts are supposed to be ‘sleeping’ shifts but I was woken up countless times and eventually couldn’t sleep because of it. So I’m incredibly tired, I imagine I got about an hour yesterday but this morning I was exhausted – now I’ve gone past that point. Who knows how I’ll feel tomorrow! All I know is I’m getting too old for this…!

(Excuse the car window reflection on the left, we can’t all be perfect! It seems neither can my sense of direction be perfect either! Excuse the reflection on the right…)

The plus side is I read one and a half books. Usually in the middle of the night, I would be encouraged to read uni books but sadly (deliberately) I didn’t take any with me. Instead though I was forward thinking enough to include Kathy Reichs ‘Fatal Voyage’ and Charlotte Mendelson’s ‘Almost English.’ Both were excellent reads although the latter was a bit tricky to get into at first – I’ll review on goodreads later today (when essay writing is over) and hopefully it’ll appear over there –> on the widget. After a long few hours at work and a sleepless night, and after a bit of rest once home – we went to my sisters for an absolutely wonderfully cooked thai chicken curry. Photos below!
