“Tomorrow, is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one.”
― Brad Paisley
If you’re reading this, then you made it through 2012 and the world didn’t end. With just a few more hours left of the old year, many will be fretting over those bills they didn’t pay, those things they didn’t do and the people they didn’t make amends with because 2013 will never happen. It’s true, there are many who thought like that! Regardless though, 2012 is almost done and we did it!
I thought it would be fitting to round of the year in celebratory style. Rest assured, it’s not yet eleven am and I didn’t drink the contents of the wine glasses, promise! I’m seeing in the New Year by going to watch Life of Pi at the cinema. I hope that whatever you’re doing, wherever you are, the start to the New Year is a great one for you.
I have nothing more to say other than to borrow the words of Neil Gaiman and give you his thoughts on the New Year, because they echo mine..
“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something. So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”
