Listen! The wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves,
We have had our summer evenings, now for October eves!”
― Humbert Wolfe

It has been one of those days where everything is stressful and one thing impacts another like a domino effect and you’d expect that having to take photos and do a blog just compounds it even more. Yet having that outlet of Photography that I had to do, seemed to do quite the opposite.

Ordinarily I would have let the stress stew for the rest of the day culminating in a throbbing headache and an antsy Kathryn. Instead, I ventured out with the camera for just 15 minutes and switched off completely – and it worked.

So whilst my photos aren’t completely unique (yes more leaves) they are fresh and actually they served more than a visual purpose for me, on this day of stress! The good news is that my car is serviced and happy – the bad news is that the palava of having a replacement car just made the day even worse. Especially when I was 50 miles from the garage and the key wouldn’t flip open. So I was stuck outside of the car in the rain that was steadily getting heavier.  On calling  Vauxhall for advice they said, Oh it happens.

Needless to say, I’ll be using yet another garage next year. Last year, my local Vauxhall dealer (which has subsequently shut down) put two nice gouges in my paintwork and then claimed it was  a stone chip. The power of photography corrected them though. I painstakingly took a photo and blew it up to show that the patterns were identical and if that was a magical stone then I was a magical mushroom. So concludes the 2nd of October. More Autumnal, rainy and cold as the hours go by – which is just how I like it!
