Today we had complimentary tickets to the Southampton Boat show – a fine affair on the South Coast! But we decided not to use them! Instead, we climbed to the highest heights of the tallest building in all of Southampton and hung carelessly off the edges of it.
Okay, I may have exaggerated a little. Instead of climbing to the top of the highest building and hanging off of it, we drove to the heights of IKEA car park (IKEA Heights) and viewed the boatshow from there.
The view was not disappointing. Independence of the Seas, a fantastic cruise liner, was docked in Southampton providing a rather different view of the coast than usual. It was there for the boatshow – and provided a great majestic object to view.
Deciding not to use the tickets wasn’t all that much of a hardship. Although Jensen Button was rumored to be at the show on Friday – so who knows what faces might have shown up. However doing a spot of shopping and some wandering around IKEA was still great fun – for a Saturday!
Today is exciting though – because it’s officially 99 days until this challenge of photographing and blogging each day is complete! We’re in double figures now! It’s also the first day (officially) of Autumn – which means it only gets more orange, more red and more golden from here on!
