“You can’t stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you.
You have to go to them sometimes.”
― A.A. Milne
The quote isn’t entirely relevant since I found nobody when I went for a wander this afternoon with the parents and doggies – but I thought it was cute. Plus it reminds me of Winnie the Pooh, and he’s cute too. So there we go!
Today’s blog consists of photos taken whilst out walking. Although I didn’t stop much to take them, and I stripped down my camera bag to the bare minimum of equipment in favor of not having to carry much – but it still documents the day.
I walked the old Railway line from Chilbolton to Longstock (pretty much). It links up to The Bunnies but we were about half a mile short of getting to there. It’s one of my favourite places with the views across the river and the old fishing huts. However the railway line was a pretty, pleasant walk too.
Buddy and Star both came, which means that there’s a shot of Star this time when ordinarily she asks for no publicity. In favor of being out and about, she consented to being snapped today and I get to share her lovely face!
All in all, we’ve estimated the walk was about 3 and a half miles, when actually we thought that just walking one way would be three miles. Quite disappointing to find that somehow, it had got shorter! It was fairly busy with cyclists and the odd dog walker here and there (and a random dog all by himself who wouldn’t let us get near him to read his collar!) History wise, there’s not much online about the railway line but apparently it was called the Sprat and Winkle line hence the title…
