Apparently it’s really simple to boil an egg. It’s one of those things that people throw at you when suggesting that you’re not that stupid because you can boil an egg. However I had to search the internet this morning to find out how long I needed to boil an egg for the perfect amount of runniness.

Needless to say, I sacrificed said runniness in the name of Photography, because by the time I got around to eating it – the egg had further cooked itself and was nice and dry! I also had my camera on manual from some mucking around with water shots last night – and the above shot was a fluke. It’s blurred but I love the tones captured!

Since getting into still life photography a lot more lately, I’ve thought more about the backgrounds that I photograph on. Therefore this morning I found the perfect tea towel, if possibly a little dull, and set the shot up a bit more carefully. (Not too carefully though, I was hungry!)

The perfect runny eggs are not perfect without some soldiers to go with them. Soldiers are strips of toast with a light spread of (in this case) flora on top. Flora’s healthiest! But you can have butter if you really want to.
