“Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
― Lewis Carroll

I made Breakfast today – I make it most days really, given that Breakfast tastes nice! But today I made an effort with Breakfast in the name of Photography. I made everybody Fruit & Yoghurt Crunch which is perfectly easy to do and present and even easier to consume. Although there were remarks that it wasn’t possible to eat anything in this house without me first having to Photograph it. Actually that’s turning out to be true!

Fruit & Yoghurt Crunch – Kathryn Style

  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Natural Yoghurt
  • Crunch Cereal/Granola/Muesli

You’ll also need a number of wine glasses or sundae glasses depending on what’s available. That adds completely to the whole experience of the Crunch of course. If they can have little wine charms on the bottom of them then all the better! This morning I made for four, which meant that I didn’t need much. A punnet of Strawberries (because one has to allow for nibbling them whilst preparing) a couple of handfuls of Blueberries and a box of raspberries. We used a whole tub of Natural Yoghurt between us and a few handfuls of Crunch Cereal. (Kellogs of course!)

The pictures in recipe books always look so nicely presented and laid out – the glass is clean and shiny, the yoghurt layered perfectly and…it’s complete rubbish. Food doesn’t sit like that! Plus if you do it that way the ingredients don’t fuse together to make an awesome mess. So here we go…

  • Layer the bottoms of each glass with mushed up Raspberries.
  • Add a sprinkle of Crunch
  • Top it up with a few strawberries and blueberries
  • Add a spoonful of Yoghurt
  • Repeat the first step – and so on until the glass is full!

Teaspoons are required, and probably some toast for afterwards to make it the ultimate breakfast – and a nice big mug of tea or coffee! If you want a sweetened version of the above (what you can’t handle the raspberries?!) then drizzle in some runny honey. I didn’t do that because it would be sweetness overload – and I, am sweet enough!
