“I’ll remember those moments for evermore
As the days where nothing had changed at all.” – Sandi Thom –

It felt like a true Spring day this morning – despite waking up to a fairly heavy groundfrost. The temperature quickly rose and by eleven it was nice enough to sit outside with a cup of coffee.  Extended family were kicking off something chronic this morning so the plans for this afternoon of having a small gathering in honour of somebody’s birthday were cancelled. Which was actually quite nice in the long run, one doesn’t want the hassle of wondering whether or not this person or that person will cause arguments and feuds. Instead I turned my mind to my law books and killed a few chapters in the space of half an hour. It’s actually quite therapeutic reading about Justice when a lot of the distant family are acting unfairly! I didn’t make all that much effort with the photographs I took today. I stepped outside into the garden for all of five minutes to take some shots of cobwebs illuminated by the rather bright and warm sunshine! To me, cobwebs and sunshine are a sign of Spring – not 100% sure why! I also have a hard time getting Cobwebs around the right way – even today. To me (especially five year old me!) they are WobCebs…

I do believe I’m getting the hang of this blogging business, having remembered twice now to re -size my images to something more manageable. It hopefully means that if you’re reading this – the images appear just as speedily as the text. The quote comes from one of my all time favourite Summer sunshine songs. I remember seeing Sandi Thom some years ago, singing at the local theatre in a small ‘standing room only’ set up. It was amazing, she had just become quite well known for I wish I was A Punkrocker so I was going because I liked the song but imagine my surprise when she was awesome at just about everything she sang! So my favourite is and always will be Sunset Borderline.

A simple scent of summer stole my heart for the last dance,
The smell of two-stroke petrol from a motorbike we used to have.
Those playing fields of cut grass you know high school left me kind of blue
Now with every sweet summer breeze I’ll be thinking of you

Now I’m waiting for the sunset borderline
Every suns gotta set with time
But I’ll remember those moments for evermore
As the days where nothing had changed at all

Found a long lost picture of the car we used to run,
Cotton candy coloured paintwork looked so faded in the sun,
And that 6 o clock sunrise you always used to drive me to,
Guess that long lost picture will always have me thinking, have me thinking of you.

Now I’m waiting for the sunset borderline
Every suns gotta set with time
But I’ll remember those moments for evermore
As the days where nothing had changed at all.

So for every little sad sweet love song that’s ever sung, I’ll be thinking
And for every lost summers day that ever been and gone, I’ll be thinking
I wonder if your gonna be the tear that follows me
Until that sun is set I guess I’ll always be.

Waiting for the sunset borderline
Every suns gotta set with time
But I’ll remember those moments for evermore
As the days where nothing had changed at all

Turned into the radio flicking through the stations one by one
Tried to listen through the rain while
Humming those melodies alone
I remember how you told me lennon & mccartney
Always pulled you through
So as the music fades out I’ll be thinking, I’ll be thinking of you.
